Aladin is a Palestinian merchant from the old city of Jerusalem. He owns a store specializing in the sale of traditional Palestinian dresses and printing on t-shirts, sweatshirts, baby bodysuits, and tote bags. This store was passed down to him from his father, who inherited it from his grandfather.
Aladin is also a father of three daughters.
Like Sa’ad, Aladin’s store relies exclusively on tourism. Already heavily impacted by the border closures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the war that began in October 2023 led to the complete closure of his store and therefore no income since October 7th, even though three households depend on his business.
