Palestinement is more than just a brand; it’s a social enterprise committed to maintaining Palestinian presence in Jerusalem, supporting Palestinian families in need, and preserving Palestinian cultural heritage.
Through products sold by Palestinian merchants and/or finely crafted by Palestinian artisans, we support local craftsmanship and expertise, promote our culture worldwide, and help Palestinians break free from the isolation imposed by the occupier.
Palestinement initially sought to highlight the Palestinian merchants of the Old City of Jerusalem because their situation is often overlooked, depriving them of the support they need. Residing in Jerusalem as a Palestinian entails a heavy sacrifice, often ignored, while the ultimate goal of Zionist policy is clearly stated: to make Jerusalem an exclusively Jewish city.

Palestinian merchants have not been spared. After the construction of the apartheid wall in 2002, Palestinians in East Jerusalem were completely isolated from Palestinians in the West Bank, especially from neighboring cities like Bethlehem and Ramallah. Jerusalem was thus emptied of Palestinians, including Palestinian businesses. Furthermore, tourists are consistently warned not to buy from Palestinians in East Jerusalem under the false pretext that it would support terrorism.
The relentless and suffocating economic pressure experienced by Palestinians in Jerusalem – especially the merchants – is unbearable, to the extent that many are forced to live outside of Jerusalem. It is precisely for this reason that Palestinement was established in the first place: to provide a stable income to talented merchants and artisans who only lack customers and who already sacrifice material comfort and daily peace to stay in their hometown of Jerusalem.
f initially, Palestinement focused on supporting artisans from East Jerusalem, very quickly, its partners expanded to cover the entire occupied Palestine: from Gaza to Nablus, passing through Ramallah, Al-Khalil, Bethlehem, and Tulkarem.
In East Jerusalem, the isolation of Palestinians implies a need to connect artisans with potential buyers. In the West Bank and Gaza Strip, the issue is quite different: Palestinians have no access to the international delivery network or the international payment system. Palestinement commits to being a relay for them.
Palestinement’s objective is unique: to support merchants and artisans offering quality products by making them accessible to individuals who wish to support Palestinians without necessarily knowing how, all within an ethical and fair framework.
