Every city, village, and family in Palestine has its own style of tatreez, the traditional embroidery that women used to stitch on their dresses. These motifs carried identity, roots, and often family history.
Inspired by this heritage, Saad, an artisan from Jerusalem’s Old City, envisioned a way to bring Palestine together in a single textile piece. He collaborated with his friend Sheikh Ibrahim, who lives in the mountainous countryside of Al-Khalil. Known for his family’s sewing skills and their collection of old dresses, Ibrahim also found in this project a vital source of support for his family, who face both financial hardship and health challenges.
Together, they gathered traditional dresses from across Palestine, many over 100 years old. The fabrics were carefully cut and hand-sewn into an extraordinary patchwork of Palestinian embroidery. The result: wall hangings, table runners, pillow covers, and bedspreads, each one carrying stories through every stitch.
These creations are truly unique, available only through Saad’s workshop. By owning one, you directly support two Palestinian families and help preserve a threatened cultural heritage.
These creations are versatile and can serve as:
a wall hanging, bringing cultural depth to any space,
a bedspread, turning a bedroom into a place of memory,
or a table runner, adding elegance and identity to a home.

Sa’ad is one of eight siblings who all grew up as orphans. Raised by his older brothers, they overcame life’s hardships together, starting from nothing and gradually managing to buy two shops in Jerusalem’s Old City. Today, Sa’ad works in one of these family-owned stores, carrying on the dream and determination of his brothers.
Born, raised, and still living in the Old City of Jerusalem, Sa’ad has an endless love for its historic and spiritual streets. In his youth, during the time of the First Intifada, like many Palestinians, he was deeply involved in political activism for his people’s freedom. This commitment led to multiple imprisonments and prevented him from completing his education.
Despite the challenges, Sa’ad embodies the resilience and dignity of Jerusalem’s residents, welcoming everyone who steps into his shop and sharing with them the true soul of his beloved city.
