Support the Palestinian economy

Sarah, a Palestinian artisan originally from Nablus, collects old fragments of traditional Palestinian embroidery (tatreez) and gives them a new life by incorporating and hand-sewing them onto her pouches.

Each creation helps preserve motifs from Palestinian textile heritage while giving them a new purpose.

Tatreez is a traditional Palestinian embroidery art passed down from generation to generation. Its motifs, colours and compositions vary between regions and reflect the richness of Palestinian textile heritage. In 2021, the art of traditional Palestinian embroidery was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Because Sarah works with existing vintage embroidery, the motifs, colours and details vary from one pouch to another. Each piece is unique.

The name given to each model is used to distinguish the different pouches in the collection and does not indicate the origin of the embroidery used.

By choosing this creation, you directly support Sarah’s work, while helping to preserve and sustain Palestinian craftsmanship.

Dry clean only.
Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
Do not rub the embroidery.

Nablus - Embroidery Artisan

Sarah

Originally from Nablus, Sarah is 34 years old and holds a degree in Public Administration from Birzeit University. Passionate about art and craftsmanship from an early age, she naturally turned to handmade creation when, like many young Palestinians, she was unable to find employment in her field.
