These earrings feature a watermelon slice created through the intricate art of Palestinian micro-mosaic. Tiny individual elements are carefully assembled by hand to gradually form the colourful design.
With its red, green, white and black colours, the watermelon has become a widely recognised visual symbol of Palestine, echoing the colours of the Palestinian flag. Its symbolic use has been associated in part with periods when displays of the Palestinian flag were restricted by Israeli authorities, and the motif was subsequently widely adopted in Palestinian art and visual culture.
Each pair requires nearly a week of work, with every element individually positioned by hand before the finished watermelons are mounted on sterling silver 925 hooks. Because of this handcrafted process, small variations may occur from one pair to another, making each piece unique.

Avoid contact with water, perfume, cosmetics and chemical products. Protect the earrings from impacts and gently clean the silver parts with a soft, dry cloth, avoiding abrasive products on the mosaic.
