The poetry of Mahmoud Darwish brought together with the colours of Palestine.
This pendant takes the shape of the map of Palestine, detailed in the black, white, green and red of the Palestinian flag and inscribed in Arabic with one of Mahmoud Darwish’s most celebrated verses:
« على هذه الأرض ما يستحق الحياة »
“On this earth, there is that which deserves life.”
Taken from his poem On This Earth (على هذه الأرض), these words have become one of the Palestinian poet’s most recognisable lines.
The pendant is entirely handcrafted by Ala’, a Palestinian jeweller in Jerusalem’s Old City, from hallmarked sterling silver 925. A sterling silver 925 chain is included.
It is also available with a gold-plated finish (+€15) on both the pendant and chain.
Avoid contact with water, perfume, cosmetics and chemical products.
Gently clean with a soft, dry cloth. For the gold-plated version, take particular care to avoid repeated friction to help preserve the finish.
