An original Palestinian coin, transformed into jewellery by the hands of a Jerusalem artisan.
In his workshop in Jerusalem’s Old City, Ahmad transforms an authentic 2 mils coin into a distinctive pendant. He crafts the sterling silver 925 setting entirely by hand, carefully designed to reveal the details of the coin without concealing the traces of its history. A sterling silver 925 chain completes the necklace.
On one side, the name “Palestine” appears in Arabic, English and Hebrew, alongside the year the coin was minted. On the other, an olive branch surrounds its denomination. Over time, the bronze has developed its own unique patina; the year and appearance therefore vary from one piece to another. The pendant measures approximately 3 cm.
One coin, one story
Introduced in 1927 under the British Mandate, the Palestine pound included this 2 mils coin. Dating from 1927–1947, it preserves a tangible trace of Palestine before the Nakba of 1948: its name, engraved into the metal in three languages.
Ahmad gives the coin a new life without erasing the one it has already lived. This sterling silver Palestinian coin necklace brings together the beauty of handcrafted jewellery and the strength of a heritage to be worn close to you.
Avoid contact with water, perfume and household products. Gently wipe the silver with a soft cloth after wearing and store the necklace in a dry place.
The patina of the antique coin is part of its unique character. Do not use abrasive products to clean it.
