Ahmad transforms an authentic antique Palestinian coin by hand into a unique piece of jewellery in his workshop in Jerusalem’s Old City.
For this ring, he uses a Palestinian 1 mil coin measuring approximately 2 cm in diameter, around which he handcrafts a sterling silver 925 setting. The ring is adjustable, allowing it to fit different finger sizes.
As these are genuine antique coins rather than reproductions, the year, patina and appearance of the coin may vary from one piece to another. Each ring therefore has its own unique characteristics.
The Palestine pound was introduced in 1927 and divided into 1,000 mils. Coins issued during this period bear the name “Palestine” in Arabic, English and Hebrew, together with their year of minting. Today, they remain tangible pieces of Palestine’s history before 1948.
By choosing this piece, you directly support Ahmad and his family in Jerusalem, while helping to sustain Palestinian craftsmanship and traditional skills.
Avoid contact with water, perfume, cosmetics and household cleaning products.
To restore the shine of sterling silver 925, gently polish it with a soft cloth suitable for silver.
