This pendant is handmade by Ala’, a Palestinian jeweller in Jerusalem’s Old City, from a family in which the craft of jewellery making has been passed down from father to son.
Crafted from sterling silver 925, the pendant follows the contours of the map of Palestine in an openwork design that gives the piece a delicate and lightweight appearance.
Along one side, a fine row of crystals in the colours of the Palestinian flag — red, green, white and black — follows the silhouette of the map. Their subtle sparkle contrasts beautifully with the clean silver finish and gives this design its distinctive character.
