Palestinian Coin Bracelet 10 Mils

An authentic Palestinian 10 mils coin, transformed into a bracelet in Jerusalem.

In his workshop in Jerusalem’s Old City, Ahmad transforms a genuine antique Palestinian 10 mils coin by hand into a bracelet crafted from sterling silver 925.

Measuring approximately 3 cm in diameter, the coin forms the centrepiece of the design. Rather than reproducing its motif, Ahmad works directly with the original currency, incorporating it into the bracelet while preserving its natural patina and the traces left by time.

A tangible trace of Palestine before 1948

The 10 mils coin belongs to the currency introduced in Palestine from 1927, under the authority of the Palestine Currency Board during the British Mandate period.

On the original coin, the name “Palestine” appears in Arabic, English and Hebrew, alongside its denomination and year of minting. Its design also features an olive branch, characteristic of these coins.

These inscriptions and motifs are not reproduced for the jewellery: they belong to the authentic antique Palestinian coin used by Ahmad.

The bracelet therefore preserves a genuine tangible trace of Palestine before 1948, now incorporated into the work of a Palestinian jeweller in Jerusalem.
