These earrings are the result of nearly one week of meticulous work, carried out entirely by hand.
They are created in Bethlehem by Omar, Thikryat and Mahmoud, in one of the few workshops in the world specialising in the art of micro-mosaic. Each fragment of semi-precious stone is carefully worked and assembled by hand to form the watermelon design.
The watermelon was chosen for its particular significance. Its red, green, black and white colours echo those of the Palestinian flag. The fruit has notably been used as a Palestinian visual symbol in contexts where displaying the flag was banned or restricted, and has since become widely associated with Palestinian identity and solidarity.
The micro-mosaics are finished with sterling silver 925 hooks. Because each piece is entirely handmade using natural stones, subtle variations make every pair unique.
By choosing this piece, you directly support the work of Omar, Thikryat and Mahmoud in Bethlehem while helping to preserve a particularly rare Palestinian craft.
Avoid contact with water, perfume, cosmetics and household cleaning products.
To restore the shine of sterling silver 925, gently polish it with a soft cloth suitable for silver.
All our products are shipped directly from Palestine.
