Sumac (السماق) is an essential spice in Palestinian cuisine, prized for its tangy, fruity flavor and deep red color.
Harvested and ground in Jerusalem by a Palestinian artisan, this 100% natural sumac is traditionally used in musakhan, one of Palestine’s most iconic dishes. It is also delicious with salads, hummus, rice, chicken and grilled meats.
Sprinkle it directly over your dishes, add it to marinades or mix it with olive oil for a simple, flavorful dressing. Its natural tanginess also makes it a great alternative to lemon or vinegar in many recipes.
