This pendant features one of the best-known verses by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish:
على هذه الأرض ما يستحق الحياة
“On this earth, there is that which deserves life.”
These words open his poem “On This Earth” (على هذه الأرض), in which Darwish evokes what makes life worth living through the land, memories, everyday moments and Palestine.
The pendant is entirely handcrafted and engraved by Ahmad, a Palestinian jeweller working in Jerusalem’s Old City. It is made from hallmarked sterling silver 925 and comes with a sterling silver 925 chain.
The back can be personalised with a name, date, initials or a few meaningful words. A gold-plated finish is also available for an additional €15.
A matching bracelet is also available to complete the set.
Avoid contact with water, perfume, cosmetics and chemical products. Gently clean the pendant and chain with a soft, dry cloth. For the gold-plated version, avoid repeated friction to help preserve the finish.
