Habet al-Zeytoun means “olive grain” in Arabic, referring to the shape of the jewellery. This bracelet reproduces a design that existed in Gaza around 200 years ago and forms part of Palestinian jewellery history.
Today, Ahmad, a Palestinian jeweller based in Jerusalem’s Old City, recreates it entirely by hand using the same traditional techniques. He preserves both the shape of the historic design and its method of construction. The craftsmanship behind the bracelet is as much a part of its history as its appearance.
Habet al-Zeytoun connects Gaza, where this jewellery existed in the past, with Jerusalem, where Ahmad makes it today. Its story continues in a Palestinian workshop, through a piece made to be worn and passed on.
Made from 925 sterling silver, the bracelet is available in silver or gold-plated finish. Wear it on its own or alongside the other pieces in the collection.
