Habet al-Zeytoun means “olive grain” in Arabic, referring to the shape of the jewellery. This design existed in Gaza around 200 years ago and forms part of Palestinian jewellery history.
Today, Ahmad, a Palestinian jeweller based in Jerusalem’s Old City, recreates it entirely by hand using the same traditional techniques. He reproduces both its shape and its method of construction, keeping the historic design and the craftsmanship behind it alive.
The necklace connects Gaza, where this jewellery existed in the past, with Jerusalem, where Ahmad makes it today. Its story continues in a Palestinian workshop, through a piece made to be worn and passed on.
Made from 925 sterling silver, it is available in silver or gold-plated finish and comes with a complimentary 925 sterling silver chain.
Entirely handmade in Palestine, Habet al-Zeytoun makes a meaningful gift for yourself or someone special. Choosing it offers a connection to Palestine while directly supporting Ahmad’s work, his family and the continuation of his craft.
Complete your set with the Habet al-Zeytoun bracelet and Habet al-Zeytoun earrings.
